Andrea Dvorak

Experienced Cycling and Multisport Coach

Biography:

Andrea is an experienced coach in Boulder who loves to help folks reach their goals with a healthy and balanced approach. Her coaching career started as a student-athlete at the University of Virginia eager to learn how to balance the rigors of athletics and academics. It continued as a racer, where Andrea was always interested in the ‘why’ behind the training programs. After her racing career, Andrea spent 5 years as a coach of the Miller School of Albemarle Endurance Team,  a boarding school located in Charlottesville, Virginia, working with high school student-athletes racing at the national and international level in road, mountain bike and cyclocross.

Andrea’s own decorated cycling career includes making the United States Olympic Long Team for the 2012 London Olympic Games, winning a stage of the Route de France, competing in multiple World Championships, winning a silver medal at the US National Road Race Championship, and winning the Cascade Cycling Classic Stage Race. After retiring from road cycling, Andrea ventured into the longer distances. In 2017, she won and set a course record at the Shenandoah Mountain 100 mountain bike race and got 2nd at the Leadville 100 MTB race. Since then, Andrea has gotten 3rd at the Unbound 350 XL gravel race, and competed in various gravel and mountain bike events.

Off the bike, Andrea is committed to providing cycling and racing opportunities to middle school and high school students. She is the League Director of the  NICA Virginia Interscholastic Cycling League whose aim is to make mountain biking a mainstream middle school and high school sport.

Despite going to law school and passing the bar exam, Andrea attributes a lot of her education to her experiences gained on two wheels. As a result, she is motivated and excited to help others achieve sporting goals in a healthy and balanced environment.
